Nashville, Ark. -

The Nashville Scrappers played host to the final regular season game of the season Friday. Despite the Badgers putting up 21 points against the undefeated Scrappers, it wasn’t enough for a win. The Scrappers finished the evening with a 49-21 win over the Badgers.
Nashville got in the endzone on their first two possessions of the game, utilizing both hard running and precise passing to go up 14-0 on the Badgers by the 4:52 mark in the first quarter.
The Badgers would not put up any points of their own until near the end of the first quarter on a drive led by running back Markel Hendrix and finished on a pass from Garrett Rucker to Greg Clayborn from the Nashville 22 yard line to bring the score to 14-7.
Nashville answered almost immediately to take the lead back to 14, 21-7, and then, after a Badger turnover, scored on a screen pass for the 28-7 lead.
The first half ended with the Scrappers still up by 14, but the Badgers opened the second half with a scoring drive that started from their own 31. Hendrix and Spencer Knight carried the Badgers to within striking distance and another pass completion from Rucker to Clayborn allowed Hendrix to run in from the seven, taking the score to 28-14. The drive went 69 yards in 12 plays.
However, Nashville dominated the rest of the game by scoring three touchdowns in rapid succession and pushing the score to the 35 point mercy rule. The clock rolled by quickly, but the Badgers found the endzone one more time before it ran out, ending the game at 49-21.
Hendrix had 28 carries for 142 yards and one touchdown. Xzavior Todd carried four times for 34 yards. Clayborn had six catches for 91 yards and one touchdown. Javaughn Williams carried once for seven yards and a touchdown. Rucker was eight of 19 passing for 110 yards and one touchdown. Despite the loss, the Badgers clinched the fifth place spot in the conference that allows them to advance to the playoffs. The first round  will be on the road against Heber Springs Friday.
