A fire in the cafeteria at Central Primary School in Arkadelphia prompted the presence of firefighters though the fire had already been extinguished upon their arrival. Firefighters on the scene indicated one school employee was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported as of press time.
"An oven mit caught fire in the Central Primary kitchen on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at approximately 10 a.m. A custodian extinguished the fire immediately. The local fire department was called to the scene by office personnel to survey the area and due to health department regulations, an alternate lunch is being prepared for the students. The fire department and school administration determined there was no threat to the school, students or staff. School will continue as usual."
