Henderson State University Theatre will present seven performances of Almost, Maine by John Cariani on Feb. 24, 25, and 26. All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of Arkansas Hall.

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems to be in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

The ensemble cast includes: Thomas Cooper, a junior from Royal; Joey Farley, a freshman from Paragould; Whitney Glover, a sophomore from Texarkana, Texas; Jonathan Lindsey, a freshman from Hot Springs; Evan Park, a junior from Lonoke; Heather Seanor, a sophomore from Rolla, Mo.; Casey Sparks, a junior from Sherwood; and Daphne Willis, a freshman from Hot Springs.

The play is under the direction of William Henshaw, associate professor of theatre. The design team includes Jeff Bailey, a senior from Malvern, designing scenery; Andrea Butler, a junior from Texarkana, Texas, designing lighting; and Kia Manuel, a senior from Camden, designing costumes and make-up. Sarah Burns, a senior from Hot Springs, is serving as stage manager.

The HSU Theatre Box Office in Arkansas Hall will be open for advance ticket sales from 1- 4 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 14. All seats are reserved. Admission is $8, or free with an HSU student ID, courtesy of the Student Activities Board. A reception will follow the opening night performance.
