Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts presents the 18th annual Festival of Christmas in Jones Performing Arts Center Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
A reception for Dr. Vernon Miles, Henderson State University’ new provost and vice president for academic affairs, and his wife Kathy will be held Friday from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Garrison Center Jones Room foyer.
Arkadelphia’s Christmas parade will be Thursday at 5 p.m. The parade will begin at 12th and Main streets and head east along Main to end at Fourth Street.
“The Pirates of Penzance” opened Thursday night at Ouachita Baptist University’s Jones Performing Arts Center. The Gilbert & Sullivan opera, presented in English, will be performed again today and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. A matinee will be performed Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Henderson State University Theatre will present seven performances of “The Miracle Worker” by William Gibson at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, 21, 22, 24, and Dec.. 4, 5, and 6. A reception will follow the opening night performance.
The School of Fine Arts Division of Music at Ouachita Baptist University will present William S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s opera in English “The Pirates of Penzance” at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20-22 and at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 23.
Arkadelphia teachers honored
The Arkadelphia Public School District will host a reception honoring Arkadelphia Teachers of the Year at 5:15 p.m. in the Arkadelphia High School Library/Media Center.
