  • The U.S. economy had its worst quarter since the Great Recession, the Commerce Department announced today. The first three months of 2014 saw our gross domestic product drop 2.9 percent, much worse than the 1 percent officials believed would be the case. The economy hasn’t dropped that much since the first quarter of 2009.
