Police found 20 dead dogs at a kennel in Gilbert, Arizona, and a politician is connected to the facility. Green Acres Dog Boarding is owned by relatives of Sen. Jeff Flake, and Flake’s son Austin was in charge of the kennel when the dogs were found dead. Austin Flake said a dog chewed through wiring that powered an air conditioner for the kennel, knocking out the AC at night, and that he found the dogs dead the next morning. Police and veterinarians are skeptical of that account, however, saying the dogs wouldn’t have died that quickly.
