Fundraising efforts result in personnel kissing pig.
Several Peake Elementary personnel puckered up to porkey the pig Friday as part of a school-wide fundraiser.
According to Nikki Thomas, principal at Peake Elementary, the "Kiss the Pig" contest was part of the school's Relay for Life project.
"This is a great service project," said Thomas who noted that the fundraiser yielded slightly less than $1,000.
"I am so proud of you and I am just so blessed being part of a school that is unique," Thomas said.
According to Thomas, students at PES raised more than $500 for a fellow student on Friday only.
"It just makes me so happy that we are so giving at Peake and that you are such giving students. You should be proud of yourselves," Thomas said.
Thomas expressed her appreciation to all faculty members for participating in the contest.
