Gurdon falls in the first round of regional tournament action.

GURDON — The Gurdon Go-Devils put up a fight, but it wasn’t enough as the Dermott Rams were able to push past the Devils to take the win in the first round of the 2A South Regional Tournament Thursday night.
The two teams traded shots throughout the first quarter, but the Devils were able to take the lead going into the second quarter, 17-14.
The Rams came back in the second, however, taking a 36-31 lead over the Devils into the locker room.
After the break, the Devils were able to hold the Rams to 16, but they only added 15 to allow Dermott to stretch their lead to 52-46.
Dermott added 23 in the fourth while holding the Devils to 21 to secure the win.
Adam Cooper led the Devils with 27 points on the night. Naja Hawthorne added 10, and Alunzo Leeper and Brandon Beals had nine each. Chris Accor put up six, and Maurien Ross had three. Savion Miles and Jaylon Sproles rounded out the scoring with two apiece.
The Devils hit 11 of 26 shots from the free throw line for 42 percent efficiency.
The Devils ended their season with a record of 16-13.
