The Ouachita Junior Warriors struggled against a tough Jessieville team in the opening round of the Bismarck Junior Tournament Wednesday evening, falling 63-32.
The Warriors were only able to put up four in the opening quarter as the Lions took a 24-4 lead.
Ouachita got in their groove in the second period, adding 15, but the Lions continued to dominate the hardwood, stretching their lead to 46-19.
After the break, the Warriors had a chance to cut their deficit, but missed free throws allowed the Lions to continue to stretch the lead, 56-26.
The Warriors held the Lions to seven in the last six minutes while adding six to set the final.
Andy Swain led the Warriors with six points, and Titus McBay had five.
Cole McJunkins added four while Daniel Chastain and Skylar Stafford put up three apiece.
Lane Heard, John Fowler, Joshua Ray and Clifton Adams each added two, and Logan Gilbert, Holton Chancellor and Austin Weldon had one each.
The Warriors were knocked out of the tournament with the loss.
