The Ouachita Lady Warriors came from behind in the second half of their game against the Sparkman Lady Raiders to take a 53-50 win Tuesday night at Ouachita High School.
The Lady Warriors spent much of the game in the hole, but they were able to recover and take the win after a push in the second half gave them the three-point edge.
The Lady Warriors fell behind 16-8 in the opening period, but they were able to outscore the Lady Raiders by two in the second to cut their deficit to six, 28-22.
After the break, however, the Lady Warriors made a strong push, outscoring the Lady Raiders 12-7 in the third to cut their deficit to only one, 35-34.
The Lady Warriors put up 19 in the final eight minutes while allowing 15 to secure the win.
Kortney Stephenson led the Lady Warriors with 20 points, and Allison Fowler added 11.
Caroline Gurnett had eight points, and Keeley Powell added six.
Katelyn Dahlke and Keeley Davis had three each, and Lynae McDaniel had two.
The Lady Warriors struggled from the free throw line, hitting only four of 13 for 31 percent efficiency.
The Lady Warriors will be back on the hardwood Friday night as they travel to Taylor to face the Lady Tigers. Tip-off will follow the junior girls game.
