The Bismarck Junior Lady Lions struggled in the second quarter, and despite a strong third period, the team was unable to come out ahead, falling 42-27 to the Magnet Cove Lady Panthers.

The Lady Lions put up 12 in the opening period, but the Lady Panthers took the edge, scoring 16.

Magnet Cove powered ahead in the second, putting up 12 while holding the home team to four to stretch their lead to 28-16.

After the break, the Lady Lions beefed up their defense, holding the Lady Panthers to two while adding six of their own for a 30-22 score after three.

The Lady Lions made a run early in the fourth, but the Lady Panthers hit 10 of 14 from the free throw line in the period to secure the win.

Keyton Goza led the Lady Lions with six, and Carlye Norris and Jasa Williams had five each.

Hannah Weatherford had four, and Hayley Vincent added three.

Sierra Schwartz and Autumn Glasgow rounded out the scoring with two each.

The loss knocked the team out of the tourney.
