The Bismarck Lions were unable to overcome an 11-point halftime deficit as the Genoa Dragons took a 54-41 win Friday night.
The Lions fell behind 9-5 in the opening period, and Genoa stretched their lead to 23-12 at the half.
After the break, the Lions tried to recover, outscoring the Dragons by one to cut their deficit to 10, 33-23.
The Dragons secured their win in the final eight minutes, putting up 21 while holding the Lions to 18 to set the final.
Hayden Ratcliffe led the Lions with 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
Parker Hancock put up eight points with a board and a steal.
Bryan Gillespie had seven points with two boards and two takeaways.
Chance McMullin added six points, eight rebounds and a steal.
Parker Robertson and Trenton Corley rounded out the scoring with three and two, respectively. Robertson had three rebounds and two steals while Corley had three boards.
The Lions will travel to Fouke Friday night to face the Panthers. Tip-off will follow the junior high girls and senior high girls games.
