  • The Gurdon Junior Devils were unable to overcome the loss of four of their starters in the past week as they fell to Mineral Springs 38-12 Friday night.
    The Devils were down three starters at tip-off, but they lost their fourth early in the second period as Thomas Muldrow went down with an injury.
    The Devils were held scoreless in the opening period as Mineral Springs took a 12-0 lead, and the Hornets stretched their lead by one in the second for a 15-2 lead at the half.
    The Devils continued to struggle in the second half, as Mineral Springs stretched their lead to
    Gurdon outscored the Hornets in the final period, but it wasn't enough as the Hornets came away with the win.
    Tre Burford and Jeral Caudle had three points each, and Joe Brewer, Teral Caudle and Taron Marks added two each.
