  • The Arkadelphia Badgers dominated the hardwood from tip-off to the final buzzer Tuesday night as they outscored the Arkansas Baptist War Eagles, 64-48, at Badger Gymnasium to go 3-0 in 7-4A conference action.
The Badgers took a bit to get warmed up as the two teams were neck-and-neck after eight minutes, 16-16, but the Badgers doubled up on the War Eagles to take a 32-26 lead at the half.
The Badgers slipped a little in the third, allowing Arkansas Baptist to outscore them 11-10 for a 42-37 Badger lead with eight minutes to go.
Arkadelphia put it away in the final stanza, however, putting up 22 while giving up only 11 to secure the win.
Bryant Robinson led the Badgers with 22 points and four steals.
Mark Brazil and Kris Oliver had 11 points apiece, and Oliver had six assists.
Keon Lewis put up eight points, and Jakahari Howell and Nathan Carter each added six. Howell had eight boards, and Carter had nine.
"Overall, I thought we played pretty good," said head coach Donald Williams. "They were better, more of a challenge than I thought. We got in some foul trouble early, and that allowed them to stay with us. This was a good conference win."
The Badgers shot for 49 percent from the field, and they hit 60 percent of their shots from the charity stripe.
Arkadelphia will play host to Nashville Friday night in their fourth match in the first half of the conference drive. The top-ranked Badgers will tip-off following a JV match and a Varsity girls match.
