  • Charles E. Page, 67, of Arkadelphia, passed Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. He was born Oct. 12, 1946, to George E. Page and Hattie Mae Smith in Arkadelphia. He was a member of New Hope Church Of God In Christ. He attended Peake High School and later enlisted into the United States Army. He was an employee of Scroll Technologies for 15 years and was a former funeral attendant for Williams Funeral Home. He was preceded in his passing by his parents, George H. Page and Hattie Mae Smith Stitt; three brothers, Essie “Dock” Page, Charlie Stitt and George E. Page; one sister, Argie Mae Ellis; and a nephew, La’Kavis Crow. He leaves to forever remember his legacy with his wife, Dessie Owens Page of Arkadelphia; three children whom he loved as his own, Mario Owens of Rockford, Ill., Jasmine Owens and Lamar Turner of Arkadelphia; a god-son, Veronta Hendrix; three grandchildren, Ameriyah Mallett, Nevaeh West and Lamar Turner Jr.; seven sisters, Gloria Dunn Gilstrap of St. Louis, Mo., Barbara Tatum and Jennifer Hendrix, both of Benton, Alfreda Garland of Arkadelphia, Kim Hendrix, Lizzie Page and Margaret Ross of St. Louis, Mo.; and one brother, Leo Hendrix of Arkadelphia. A public visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 3, from 12-6 p.m., at the funeral home. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd Jr., is the pastor. Elder G. C. Nolan will deliver the message and Superintendent LeRoy Williams will officiate. Interment will be in Helms Cemetery with Military Honors. Services are provided by Williams Funeral Home.
