The Bismarck Lady Lions could not overcome the stout defense of the Bauxite Lady Miners Tuesday as they fell 46-20 on the road.

The home team took a huge lead in the opening quarter, outscoring the Lady Lions 21-4, and they stretched their lead to 32-13 in the second.

After the break, the Lady Lions held the Lady Miners to four while adding six to cut their deficit to 17.

Bauxite put up 10 while giving up only one in the final period to secure the win.

Logan Oestreich and Kass Chandler led the team with six points apiece. Oestreich had four rebounds and a steal, and Chandler had three boards and two takeaways.

Kaylee Newsom had three points with four rebounds, a steal and a block.

Addison Crow and Becca Bingham each added two. Crow had a rebound and a steal, and Bingham had one rebound.

Emily Whitley had one point and a rebound.

The Lady Lions will be back in action next Friday as they host Caddo Hills following the junior boys and junior girls games.
