Betty Smith, a member of the Clark County Quilter’s Guild, puts her sewing machine to work stitching a quilt top to be donated to the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The QOVF is an organization that provides quilts to injured veterans in an effort to bring a level of comfort for those who sacrifice for their country. Smith was one of several local quilters who gathered to make quilts a week before Veteran’s Day. The local group’s regular meeting time is the first Tuesday of each month at the Outback Kitchen on the Fairgrounds. The group’s November meeting will occur Nov. 12.
