With Christmas less than two months away, many children have already commenced to making out their Christmas wish lists.
Some children, however, will have to depend on the generosity of the community to receive the gifts they desire.
One local organization has taken the initiative to help make sure that area children receive their wish for Christmas.
The Junior Auxiliary will sponsor "No Limit Texas Hold'em" this Saturday at the Clubhouse Grill located on the premises of the Turtle Pointe Golf Club located at 182 Club Drive.
The charity poker tournament will allow players an opportunity to do something they enjoy while supporting a great cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit the local Angel Tree project.
About Angel Tree
The purpose of the Angel Tree is to match needy children with anonymous, generous donors.
According to Nicole Allard, this is the second year that they have done this event for Angel Tree.
"Last year they raised $600 and had approximately 30 participants. This year we would like to do even better," said Allard.
According to Allard, participants buy in for $20 each. The Junior Auxiliary collects donations from local businesses and individuals for the prizes so that all the money from ticket sales goes to the angels.
Advance tickets are currently on sale at the Clubhouse Grill for $20. Tickets will be available the day of the event for $25.
