A sluggish first quarter was not enough to keep the Bismarck Lions down as they dominated the remaining three periods to take a 59-42 victory over the Fouke Panthers Friday night.
Fouke played an agressive game, and the Lions seemed to be stunned in the first period as the visiting team took a 12-9 lead.
The Lions regrouped in the second period, however, as six different Lions put points on the board to give Bismarck a 24-17 buffer at the half.
Bismarck came out hot in the second half as well, adding 15 while holding the Panthers to nine for a 39-26 lead.
The home team did not let up in the final minutes as they poured on another 20 points, while allowing 16 by Fouke.
Jansen Hardage led the Lions with 16 points. He hit a pair of three-pointers and had six rebounds.
Trace Pee earned a double-double, putting up 11 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and getting a single block.
Ian Jenkins and Colton Davis put up 10 points each.
Jenkins earned a double-double with his 10 rebounds, and he also had a block.
Davis had nine boards and a steal.
Parker Robertson had eight points, three boards, a steal and one trey.
Parker Hancock and Cameron Davis had two points and two rebounds each.
The Lions will be back in action tonight as they play host to the Centerpoint Knights. The team will take to the court after a seventh grade game, a junior girls and a senior girls game.
