The Arkadelphia Badgers fell behind in the first quarter against Central Arkansas Christian, and they could not recover, falling 54-34 on the road.

The Mustangs took a 9-5 lead in the first period, and it was 22-12 after two.

The Badgers added eight in the third, but the home team put up 18 to stretch their lead to 40-20.

Both teams put up 14 in the final period to set the final.

Bryant Robinson led the Badgers with eight points, and Derius Holt and Mark Brazil had seven each.

Holt led the team with eight rebounds, and Kris Oliver had three steals.

The team shot 35 percent from the field, and they were 23 percent from beyond the arc. The Badgers hit three of their 10 shots from the charity stripe, and they had 10 turnovers.

"We got off to a bad start in the first quarter in both of our conference losses," said head Badger coach Donald Williams. "We didn't play well, and we did not play with the intensity that I know they are capable of. I don't have a problem getting beat, but we just aren't playing well. I told them the other night that the number one team in the state is Pine Bluff Dollarway, and we had them beat. We ended up losing to them by one point, and they are 15-1. We should be number one or two in the state. We just aren't playing like it."

The Badgers will travel to Bauxite tonight with tip-off to follow the Junior Varsity and Varsity girls games.
