Officials are working at least five separate car accidents on icy Interstate 30 Tuesday morning.
At about 9 a.m. Arkansas State Police were dispatched to the 62 eastbound milemarker, where a motorist was trapped in his vehicle. Personal injury was reported.
Paramedics responding to that crash later broadcast over police radio seeing another motor vehicle accident on the opposite, westbound side of the highway.
Minutes later, the Clark County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a three-car accident on I-30 over the Caddo River bridge. It is not known if there are injuries associated with that accident.
Senior Cpl. Mark Batson of ASP reported bridges were "starting to ice up" in parts of southern Clark County.
Farther north, state troopers were headed to the 91 milemarker for an accident with injury.
Another accident was later reported in the median, somewhere between Caddo Valley and the Clark/Hot Spring county line.
Also, a wrecker was on its way at 10 a.m. to Highway 7 in front of the Caddo Valley Landing bait and tackle shop. No injuries reported there, and the vehicle is not blocking traffic.
