Two employees of the Dollar General Store were robbed at gun point Friday night. According to Gurdon City Marshal Don Childers an armed man entered the store at closing time. The suspect was wearing a mask and gloves. He demanded money from the employees and made off with several hundred dollars in change and several more hundred dollars in bills. After obtaining the money the suspect ran out the front door and fled on foot.
Dollar General Manager Kay Little, who was not there at the time of the robbery, said she is sorry that her employees were subjected to such a dangerous situation. "It makes me feel bad that they went through that. I wish it had been me instead of them," said Little, "I am glad that my employees weren't harmed. Money you can replace but people you can't." Little said the entire robbery took place in a matter of three or four minutes.
Marshal Childers said he and his deputies are working the case.
