A pilot has been arrested at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport after a witness reported smelling alcohol on the pilot's breath, CNN reports. The pilot, whose name and gender have not been released, was preparing to fly a commercial jet to LaGuardia Airport in New York. The pilot was taken to the hospital for blood tests to confirm the consumption of alcohol. FAA regulations do not allow pilots to fly within eight hours of consuming any alcoholic beverage, and limit a pilot's blood alcohol concentration to .04 percent. The pilot will be witheld from service until an investigation into the incident is completed. No passengers were aboard when the arrest took place.
