A strong third quarter run by the Lady Badgers was not enough to overcome the deficit created in the first half as the team fell, 39-18 to the Lakeside Lady Rams at home Thursday night.
The Lady Rams took charge of the game early, taking a 12-4 lead in the opening quarter before stretching that lead to 17 points at the half, 24-7.
The Lady Badgers came back strong in the third period, outscoring their opponents 9-5 to cut the deficit to 29-16.
The Lady Rams stood strong in the final period, however, to secure their win by adding 10 points while holding the Lady Badgers to two.
Sealy Thigpen led the Lady Badgers with nine points on the night.
Indesia Eley and Sintara Arnold added three each, Jalise Hayes put up two and Aabrejah Hill had one.
The Lady Badgers will be back on the court Saturday morning as they travel to Malvern to face the Lady Cubs. Tip-off will follow two seventh grade girls games.
