V.K. Prince, age 82, of Bismarck, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012. He was born Sept. 7, 1930, the son of William Oather and Marie Hancock Prince. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He and his father owned and operated Prince Butane Co. in Bismarck for a number of years, was employed by Ouachita Marine and retired from Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his wife, Irene Prince.
Survivors include four sons, Mike (Darlene) Godwin and Eddie (Geneva) Godwin all of Bismarck, Todd (Marcie) Prince of Caney, and Mike (Shannon) Prince of Arkadelphia; four daughters, Linda Donahou of Hot Springs, Deborah Hathcoat and Shirley (Roger) Melton all of Bismarck, and Lisa (Billy) Garrett of Caddo Valley; his mother, Marie Prince of Bismarck; one sister, Betty Whitley of Bismarck; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with Bro. Chris Morrison and Bro. Van Glidewell officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Bower Cemetery.
