Henderson State University Theatre will present seven performances of Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott at 7:30 p.m. on November 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, and 17. A reception will follow the opening night performance.
In this classic thriller, Sam Hendrix innocently agrees to keep a doll for a stranger he meets at the airport. His decision launches a chain of events leading to a terrifying ordeal for his blind wife as the doll’s owners take a sinister approach to retrieving its contents.
The cast includes: Thomas Cooper of Royal; Damien Freeman of Sheridan; LaDarius Jamerson of Fort Smith; Ethan Jones of Texarkana, Texas; Adrianna McLeod of Rogers; Mauro Palmerin-Segura of Arkadelphia; Jordan Sereal of Sherwood; and Shaina Tippitt of Sheridan.
The play is under the direction of Douglas Gilpin, professor of theatre at Henderson. The design team includes: Whitney Glover of Texarkana, Texas, designing scenery; Joey Farley of Paragould designing lighting; William Henshaw, associate professor, designing costumes; and Claudia Beach, director of theatre, designing sound and graphics. Caitlin Stoddard of Fort Smith is serving as stage manager.
The HSU Theatre Box Office in Arkansas Hall will be open for advance ticket sales from 1-4 p.m. beginning Monday, November 5. All seats are reserved. Admission is $8, or free with an HSU student ID, courtesy of the Student Activities Board.
