Ruff Carroll Nivens, age 74, of Prescott, passed away, Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in Hot Springs.
He was born Dec. 17, 1937, near Prescott to the late Ruff and Lillie Bell Loe Nivens. He was a retired electrician and a Baptist.
Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, Wayne, Lyle, Keith, James and John Nivens; and a sister, Linda Ann Hill.
His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda Nivens of Prescott; his children, Stephaine Carol and husband Jerry Tucker of McCaskill and James Carroll and wife Leona Nivens of Prescott; three brothers, Leon and wife Nelda Nivens of Prescott, Harold Nivens of Prescott and Kenneth and wife Sandra Nivens of Prescott; four sisters, Donita Salisbury of Hope, Donell and husband Marlon Gibson of Longview, Texas, Nina Beth and husband David Thompson of Blevins and Alita and husband Carl Sams of Prescott; one grandson, James Caleb Nivens of Prescott; one stepgrandson, Chris Tucker of Houston, Texas; a special sister-in-law, Peggy Nivens of Hope; two brother-in-laws, Doug and wife Jean Cornish of Nashville and Bobby Hill of Avinger, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Services were Thursday, August 23, at Marlbrook Church in Blevins with Randy Hughes and John Allen Ross officiating.
