GURDON — Robert “Bob” Austin Freeman, age 74, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.

GURDON — Robert “Bob” Austin Freeman, age 74, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. He was born Sept. 7, 1936, in the Shiloh community, the son of the late Ben and Bessie Howell Freeman. Bob was a retired employee from Value Line and worked for the Meals on Wheels program through Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Daisy Matlock Freeman.
Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jones Freeman; six daughters, Debbie Ash of California, Mo., Cindy Sneed of Fulton, Mo., Dana Warren of Arlington, Texas, Connie Stephens of Hazel, Texas, Pam Chambers of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Teresa Neel of Arkadelphia; four sons, Ricky Freeman of Jefferson City, Mo., Kenny Freeman of Arkadelphia, Jim Freeman of Bismarck and Shelby Jones of Little Rock; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Lee Freeman of Hermitage; and one sister, Pauline Castor of Tipton, Ind.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Baumgardner officiating.  Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
