The Arkadelphia Badgers  advanced to 16-6 overall and 7-2 in their conference after beating Ashdown 60-24 Tuesday at the AHS gymnasium.
Leading the Badger scorers was Markeith Arnold with 11 points. Jahkari Dixon contributed eight points.
The Badgers shot 35 percent from the free-throw line and that left Head Coach Donald Williams talking fundamentals. “We’re getting ready for postseason play at this point and its the little things that concern me. Team chemistry, layups and free throws need to show improvement from here out,” said Williams.
This is the second time Williams’ squad knocked off Ashdown by more than 20 points this season, but Williams suspects that a much tougher game awaits his team at the end of their long drive to Waldron Friday. “It won’t be easy going over there. We beat them in the first round, but that game was early in December and there has been a lot of time for improvement since then. You can’t take anything for granted on a Friday night on the road, especially in this conference,” said Williams.
The junior varsity will start the action in Waldron with a 5 p.m. tipoff Friday.
