Sunday, Jan. 24

A Powder Mill Apartments resident called 911 to report that her nephew had been beaten up. Officer Ronnie Land arrived and spoke to the man, who said he was outside smoking a cigarette when he was “all of a sudden jumped” by at least four men.

Thursday, Jan. 21

A resident of the 400 block of South 11th Street reported being bitten by a neighbor’s dog. She said she pulled up to her apartment and noticed the dog was loose, but that the owner said it was OK for her to get out of her vehicle. She did, and the dog charged at her and bit her on the leg as she attempted to climb on top of her vehicle.

Tuesday, Jan. 19

A Huddleston Street man reported that someone fraudulently used his credit card and made two purchases totaling $230. Both transactions were made in Great Britain.

Saturday, Jan. 23

A Hasley Road resident reported that his step-son’s father went onto his property and threatened him, then went to his home with a golf club. The complainant said he then got his shotgun out and instructed the man to leave the residence.
A Gurdon man reported receiving harassing text messages from a woman who said that, if he did not provide her with what she wanted, she would spread rumors about him.
A Gurdon woman reported that her ex-husband made threats to her and their two children because she claimed them on her tax return.

An Amity man reported that three people were trespassing on his land to gain access to the Caddo River on Highway 182.

An Owens Road, Amity, man reported a man was trespassing on his property.

Tuesday, Jan. 19

Members of a Joan deer camp reported the camp was burglarized, and several valuable items were stolen, including a rifle and scope, hunting equipment and clothing, a four-wheeler, a chain saw and a CB radio. The merchandise was valued at $13,400.
Deputy Robbie Plyler was dispatched to Oliver Road, Amity, after a man reported dragged his water well pump down a nearby road.

Monday, Jan. 18

Deputy Garry B. Johns was dispatched to Birchfield Road, Amity, after a man reported one of his vehicles were missing. The vehicle was described as a white-and-chrome GMC pickup worth $10,000.
A resident of the 1400 block of Helms Road reported people were hunting near her house and shooting in her direction.

Arrests

Sunday, Jan. 24

Charles Edward Francis, 47, was arrested by Arkansas State Police for driving while intoxicated and following too closely to another vehicle.

Friday, Jan. 22

John Mike Olivella, 48, was arrested by Caddo Valley police for DWI, driving left of center and driving without a license.

Thursday, Jan. 21

Charles Wayne Carter, 19, was arrested for drug court.
Joshua Paul Smith, 20, was arrested for theft by receiving, possession of a firearm by a certain person, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
Cassandra Leann Cooper, 25, was arrested and held for Union County for a hot check warrant.
