Archie Mae Giles Hunter, 80 of Sparkman died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 in National Parks Medical Center, Hot Springs. She was born March 30, 1929, in Sparkman, daughter of Arch and Iora Downs Giles.

Archie Mae Giles Hunter, 80 of Sparkman died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 in National Parks Medical Center, Hot Springs. She was born March 30, 1929, in Sparkman, daughter of Arch and Iora Downs Giles.
She was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served with the WMU, the kitchen committee chairperson, and a choir member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Christel Lee Hunter, and two of her sons, David Hunter and James Hunter.
She leaves to celebrate her life, her children, Gregory Hunter and Melendell Hunter all of Sparkman; two daughters-in-law, Gayle Hunter of Russell, Kan., and Earline Hunter of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Lois Dean Brown of Doris Palace, Calif.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hunter will lie in state at Williams Funeral Home on Friday from 2-6 p.m.
 A Service of Triumph & Thanksgiving will be shared at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Sparkman where Rev. L. A. Craig is the pastor and will preach a message of comfort and hope.
The committal service & earthly resting place will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Pine Grove Community.
