  • Jimmy Rowe, 73, of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009 at his home. He was born on Nov. 19, 1935 in Tahoka, Texas, the son of Harry Austin and Louise Harper Rowe. Jimmy was retired from South Central Arkansas Electric Cooperative after 43 years of service and has served as director on the Co-op’s board for 11 years. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, a member of the Arkadelphia Masonic Lodge and the Clark County Cattlemen’s Association. Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ann Rowe Morgan and one nephew, Curtis King.
    He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Nancy Greeson Rowe; one daughter, Paula Rowe; one son, Dennis Rowe and his wife Patricia, all of Arkadelphia; one sister, Judy Roberson and husband, Don of White Hall; one brother-in-law, Billy Morgan of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren, Jill Francis and husband Jon of Texarkana, Adam Rowe and wife Karen of Okolona, Natalie Meeks and husband Daniel of Caney and Dustin Stockton and wife Bethany of Arkadelphia; seven great-grandchildren, Landon Meeks, Aiden Rowe, Hunter Francis, Georgia Kate Stockton, Bailey Elder, Caitlin Betts and Caroline Francis; three nephews, Steve Morgan, Greg Morgan and Kevin King; two nieces, Melinda Williams and Carmon Hodges.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Third Street Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Williams and Rev. Greg Lathem officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Arkadelphia. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Welch Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Lewis Bledsoe, Bobby Bennett, Alvis Wrinkle, Earl Bell, Jimmy Blanton and Ricky Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be South Central Electric Co-op directors and employees and members of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.
